Small graphic LCD controllers

I designed a graphics controller in 1994, and it became so succesful that it is still in production. Originally it used 8031 processor but the newer version used Dallas 80C320 processor and it could drive almost any type of graphics LCDs with on-board controller. It had a powerful command set, optimized for character writing. 20 different fonts were stored in the EPROM and it was very good as a replacement for alphanumeric LCDs. Bitmap operations were too slow for full featured graphic use, and that is the main reason why this product is due for major redesignig.

LCD controllers fully integrated into the LCD panel were my latest designs. All of them were custom version and were designed in close cooperation with the LCD manufacturer. They integrated a graphic LCD, microcontroller interface, touch screen and user defined functions into one panel. They were very low power devices, power consumption was less than 15mW including the LCD.
